Groups

Looking for a space to grow in faith, ask honest questions, and connect with others? We meet every Tuesday at 10am at the fireside room. Everyone is welcome whether you're new to the Bible or have been studying it for years. We choose a book, explore scripture together, reflect on how it speaks to our lives today, and support one another through prayer and conversation. All men are invited to participate in the various activities of Slater Men’s Group and to attend breakfast meetings held at 8 am on the second Saturday of most months. Our ministry is very active promoting projects that support the church financially and the fellowship of men in the church and community. Their big event for the year is our Annual Chicken & Noodles dinner on Election Day every year. 

The M&M's is a group of women whose purpose is to know God and make a difference in the communities around us. We organize annual fundraisers including bake sales, breakfast burritos and annual garage sale. A majority of the proceeds go toward supporting families in need within Slater community.  

Eves is a women's group for those who might work during the day but still want to gather with other women for fellowship, mission, and community service.

​Eves meet "socially" 2-3 times a year and do various community outreach programs.

Youth Group is for 6th-12th graders who want to gather for learning, fun, and connection. SUMC Youth Group meets every other Wednesdays during the school year. We eat, learn, enjoy time together through games, discussions and service. One of our recent projects is creating a church cookbook by collecting treasured recipes from our congregation. The group also participates in service projects that support both our church and the wider community.

This group meets after Bible Study on the third Wednesday of the month at 1pm at the Slater UMC Fellowship Hall. They make quilts to be given to shut-ins and women and children community groups and others need.

Sheldahl UWF is a group of women at Sheldahl UMC. We gather on the second Thursday of each month for fellowship, learning, and service. Our focus is on studying the lives and contributions of women around the world, growing in faith together, and making a positive impact in our local community. All are welcome to join us!

There are many members of the Slater United Methodist Church congregation that volunteer their precious time, and sometimes money, to use their talents to benefit the church. We would never be the great church we are today without all our volunteers. Thanks to all of those who care about the future of our church and help wherever they can.
